The thesis is based on the historical background of the development situation about non-profit organizations and Social Work. From the development cycle and present situation of organization C, combined with the changes and challenges of external environment, the author explores the development strategy of social work organizations in China. Firstly, starting from the vertical aspect, cycle theory of non-profit organizations, combined with the practical elements of organization C. Then starting from horizontal aspect, the author explores the internal and external opportunities faced with the organization C in present cycle.Finally,referring to the development experience of organization C,the author try to explore the strategies for promoting the long-term development of all the private social work organizations in China which in different development cycle.After 1970s, with the progress and diversification of society, the role and function of public organizations, private profit organizations, non-profit organizations that act on dealing with social issues have changed greatly. Non-profit organizations’activities attracted the world’s attention gradually. In recent years, with accelerating the transformation of our country government functions, large number of non-profit organizations rise. At the same time, a majority of non-profit organizations that do well in some fields decline in the new social environment. The same external environment has different impact on organizations in various stages of development cycle. At the same time, although the different organizations get into the same development cycle at different time and the sequence of experiencing different development cycle is also not necessarily in the same pattern.However,different organizations show similar regularity in the overall course of development. Therefore we should pay close attention to the important role of organizations’internal and external factors in horizontal aspect to drive the overall development.Organization C is the older and better one among all the professional private social work organizations.The seven years’development time was divided into two development cycles:the first one is the start-up period, as well as the first stage of the five-year development plan (ahead of schedule):2007-2010.And the second one is the growing period,aswell as the second five-year strategic planning phase:2011 to date.After that we discuss about the current development opportunities of organization C,mainly include:steadily expand the scope of services, increase the talent pool and continue to expand the volunteer resources.Meanwhile,under the inspiration of organization C’s development experience,the paper talk about the development issue of private social work organizations that in different periods,including the overall development situation of private social work organizations,the analysis of development elements of private social work organizations which were in the start-up or growing stage and their ether development strategy. And all these are in order to promote the better development of overall China private social work organizations.Finally, the paper mainly start from the inspective of internal advantages and external resources to think over the development of strategies. Firstly, referring to the start-up period organizations, it is necessary to use the internal strengths to meet the external challenges, including:focus on services and enhance the social legitimacy to ease the legal issues; to get starting resources by changing the method of raising funds to raising friends;take advantage of the organizational planning to guide the overall development of private social work organizations.Secondly,when refer to the growing period organizations,the step is to promote the internal improvement and overall development with the use of external resources,including:increase the input size of university professional resources to stable the organizations’talents; make use of the "third party" model on promoting professional evaluation and multiple management and supervision;expand public relations to promote the organizations’ brand reputation.
