In order to meet the need of twenty-first century challenges for the talents and to be more adaptable to the fiercer social competition, education should keep pace with time and we should explore new ways and patterns to make education more effective. In the process of promoting education reform, our country attaches great importance to adhere to the concept of cooperative education, and put the cooperative learning in a very important position. As a modern teaching method, the group cooperative learning takes the heterogeneous group as the unit and the group performance as the evaluation standard. In this way, teachers can achieve teaching goals quickly and efficiently by clear division of responsibilities, mutual cooperation, self-exploration and the understanding of knowledge. Group cooperative learning urges the changes of both teachers and students, and fully guarantees the students’ subjectivity, and realizes the free and comprehensive development of the students. Therefore, the introduction of group cooperative learning in high school ideological and political class can achieve the combination of theory and practice of moral education and enable students to master the knowledge. At the same time, it can not only enhance cooperation consciousness, but also improve the learning ability.Domestic and foreign experts and scholars give a full affirmation on the characteristics, theoretical basis and application of the group cooperative learning. They think that group cooperative learning can deepen students’ understanding of knowledge, improve the students’ intelligence and develop the students’ emotion, attitude and values, enhance the emotional intelligence of students. Constructivism learning theory, motivation theory, self-efficacy theory and the theory of multiple intelligences provide theoretical support for the group cooperative learning. Group cooperative learning has the following four characteristics: the complementation of the subject, the limitation of the quantity, the guidance of the goal, the communion of the product. At present, there are applications of some schools having made some achievements of cooperative learning, which gives us some inspiration. While, cooperative learning in our country is not very mature. Therefore, looking for successful cases, summarizing teaching experience, and promoting the teaching method in high school for politics teaching is of great practical significance. NO. 3 high school of Yantai applies group cooperative learning into high school political lesson teaching and accumulates some practical teaching experience. Group cooperative learning teaching method is mainly applied in senior one and senior two in high school and the basic approach is to grasp the four aspects: Firstly, orienting the role of teachers and students scientifically. Adhering to the principle of teachers’ leading role and students’ subjective status on the macro and focus on the role of teachers to further subdivision on the micro, such as organizers, examples and the creator of the safe space etc. Secondly, we should attach great importance to the sense of timing. On the one hand, good opportunity of cooperation should be grasped, on the other hand, to ensure the validity of the whole class and schedule, proper control of cooperation should put in the important position. Thirdly, the combination of group should be flexible. Team match types, seating types, nested or single types are all allowed. Team leaders’ selection adopts the means of recommendation, training content should be rich and the heads of group should not only benefit from the cooperation but also gave strictly principles of authority. Fourthly, evaluation strategy should be rich and diversity. Three principles must be adhered, that is the evaluation and bundled stereo combination of reward and punishment, process evaluation and result evaluation combination and speech evaluation and material reward combination. NO. 3 high school of Yantai has relatively formed complete and operable application solutions in high school political lesson. Questionnaire survey and field interviews show the results that group cooperative learning in NO. 3 high school of Yantai are very popular with the students in the political lesson, which greatly improve the political lesson’s effectiveness, the reason lies in the benefits, participation, interest of students and a harmonious learning atmosphere.Of course, there are some problems existing in the implantation of group cooperative learning in ideological and political course of NO. 3 high school of Yantai that need to be addressed or solved in the future, such as the lack of coverage, the slow implementation and insufficient guidance, etc. For these problems, supporting measures should be taken and guided contrapuntally, which can be made some achievements. Anyway, it still needs a lot of practice and the accumulation of experience if group cooperative learning are widely and successfully used in high school ideological and political class.
