Teaching materials are an important element of the course.Hence, it can reflect country’s curriculum standards, from which we can know the students’ content from textbooks.By searching previous literature and found that research has focused on comparative study of several different textbook publishers.in today’s increasingly diverse values,foreign literary works of Chinese textbooks has been growing prosperity,but there are few studies about foreign literary works selected text in principle and teaching methods, Especially lack the detailed and substantial study for a version. Let alone from the perspective of historical development of the vertical comb about a version, so this is the innovation of this study, this study research on PEP,and let reform and opening up as a watershed, trying to strip out and select the foreign literature from high school’ Chinese textbook PEP to be studied as an independent object, and sort of historical way, to enrich the theoretical study of foreign literature.Through literature analysis, case studies, interviews and comparative analysis to study the time period since the reform and opening up "Decade" for the demarcation of the three phases,and then combined with the social background and educational background of the times for the election text analysis.Recalling the selected achievements of foreign literature in high school Chinese textbook since reform and opening up,that is,the selected articles value orientation from the original instrumental rationality gradually in the direction of humanism, multiculturalism and open consciousness transformation, although selected text has made great achievements, but It is undeniable that foreign literature selection principle still have some limitations even today:such as the selected text is still very small proportion; Selections in less care of literary history, with selected articles still utilitarian, adult tendency is obvious. Aiming at the limitations of selected articles also made some suggestions,As elaborated foreign literature as an interdisciplinary between Chinese literature and world literature should be Refer to the order of literary history,learn the source of literary works, and the appropriate level of psychological development of high school students and other recommendations of the selection.We hope that it would be help to Chinese textbook writers and Chinese teachers who work in front-line.Meanwhile, we also hope to attract more Chinese education experts, scholars, teachers’ attention in this regard, tomake it more perfect. This will have some important guidance and reference value for the practice of Chinese teaching in high school.
