History teaching always cannot do without historical materials, history class without historical materials will only be the presentation of boring conclusions, and students shall not know how to come to these conclusions. Such teaching goes against the basic spirits promoted by new curriculum reform, nowadays, what we need to cultivate are people who are diligent in starting work, pleased to explore, active in thinking and innovation and develop all round, thus, we should not only let students know what it is, but also let them know how it is. Guided by new curriculum reform concepts, front-line teachers and experts from universities and colleges are actively exploring which teaching method can achieve the requirement of promoting students’ all-round development. However, because of various restrictions, new curriculum reform is still faced with a lot of problems, such as differences among different regions of the country, the pressure of the entrance examination for senior high school and college, restrictions of different schools, and uneven level of students, etc. Currently, a lot of history classes are still traditional classes dominated by teachers. Experts from universities and colleges point out that even better teaching concepts cannot be actually applied in front-line classes.Good history teaching design is the precondition for a good history class, how to give consideration to the practical situation of the class and also gradually close to the educational aim described in new curriculum reform, understand the principles that historical material application follows, improve students’ history learning ability, and help students to master history learning methods firmly, are problems to be discussed in this paper by the author. In addition, the paper analyzes the application of historical materials in history teaching design, so that students can read and understand contentsof historical materials, and understand the continuity of historical development and the origin of historical conclusion in order to cultivate students’ ability to interpret historical materials and sum up historical law. Therefore, historical material teaching design plays the function of bridge in aspects of developing students’ historical thinking, enhancing their historical ability, and improving systematicness of historical knowledge.Based on the reality of historical material teaching design, combining with historical material application principles and related theories of teaching design, this paper adopts individual cases analysis and document retrieval methods to carry out exploration on historical material teaching design of history in senior high school from six aspects. Part 1 elaborates the reason and value of the topic, related theories, research methods and innovation points; Part 2 analyzes the necessity and feasibility of historical material teaching design; Part 3 makes preliminary analysis on “Maturity of Ancient Political System” from curriculum standard, teaching material and learning situation;Part 4 mainly analyzes the application of historical materials in this class, and carries out discussion according to the general design scheme of teaching design, namely,teaching objectives, teaching strategies, presentation and analysis on the teaching process; Part 5 is thinking on the teaching design of the class, in the hope to provide reference for the relevant historical material teaching in future. Part 6 is conclusion for the whole paper.
