| Cognitive produced in the interaction between subject and object, based on activity, information is the raw material of cognitive development, in the environment, Children actively participate in the activities, get the information, in which way, they develop their cognitive.Cerebral palsy children belonging to multiple barriers, about 60 percent of cerebral palsy accompanied by varying degrees of cognitive impairment, but it is not the only reason why they have cognitive development difficulties. But also because of their physical disabilities and speech disorders, they can not get education in China, they can not participate in games or learning activities. With a lack of communication and other interactive objects to interact with, they can not construct cognitive activity in the environment. Lack of life experience and background knowledge and narrow interests low participation motivation, all the above severely limited cognitive development of children with cerebral palsy. Now there are some research of action, medical rehabilitation about children with cerebral palsy, but research of their education empirical is not enough. With the development of science and technology, iPad opened new vision in special education. For children who with cerebral palsy, iPad can provide timely interaction and realistic virtual environment, it’s touch-screen operation can break through the barriers that they can participate in various operational activities using Ipad. In Apple store there are multiple apps,that can be the best tool for their learning and playing games. In this study, the subjects are two children with cerebral palsy who have severe physical disabilities and mild mental retardation.They have never been to school,which have effect on their cognitive development. Researcher hope to provide immersive virtual environment using the iPad apps for children with cerebral palsy. Through the iPad apps they can break through the barriers in realistic situations,in this virtual environment they can participate in activities positively and actively, and learning and exploring to promote cognitive development. This study aimed to promote cognitive development of children with cerebral palsy using the iPad apps, and exploring strategies and methods of use of iPad apps teaching; to provide a method and recommendations for further reference. The questions to explore:(1) How to choose iPad apps to provide appropriate context and activities?(2)Does iPad apps teaching programs effective?(3)What’s the key factors that affect the iPad software teaching?A a case study of the method of qualitative research was used in this study. The results of this study are as follows:(1)It was feasible to apply iPad apps teaching on cognitive development to children with cerebral palsy;(2)The key factors of iPad apps teaching program: interactive situations and objects, practical activities, learning activities of the initiative, appropriate counseling, access to information;(3)The teaching methods: timely and comprehensive counseling, appropriate complementary presentation method, note that an extension of knowledge, for more more information;(4)How to choose iPad apps: in the case on the basis of a comprehensive assessment, based on their life experiences, hobbies, reference software evaluation criteria, select the appropriate software. |
