Organization Transformation Of NX Supporting And Caring Service Center For The Disabled

Undertakings for disabled people developed rapidly ever since supporting and caring service for the disabled has spread over the country in 2007, and achieved great achievement. With the support of a series of favorable polices, the proportion of receiving supporting and caring service among the disabled is increasing gradually, the network of disabled-care service is being improved and a large number of organizations serving for disabled people has been built. These organizations play an important role in providing services for the disabled and improving the quality of these people. In recent years, with the development of supporting and caring service, the public show higher expectation on the quality of the service, the needs of disability group show the trend of diversification, some internal problems of these institutions emerged, therefor, these internal and external factors have started to hinder their development process. These institutions who first "eat crab" come to the crossroad finally. In order to adapt to the situation, many organizations choose to put transformation of the organization on the agenda. Author entered NX supporting and caring service center and took participate in its daily work by the opportunity of professional practice when NX started its transformation already in 2015.Firstly, the author reviewed and combined related researches on disability care service at home and abroad, then, collecting information through interview,observation and case studies. From the perspective of social work, regarding NX institution as the object, this study of organization transformation includes present situations, problems, the background and ideas of transformation, initial success and experiences and so on. At the same time, the author attempted to find out social work’s contributions on benefiting the disabled in these institutions from the perspective of social work.These agencies confronted a lots of problems during their development process, such as:lack of funds, the contradiction between the supporting and caring service of these organizations and diverse needs of clients, the traditional management cannot adapt to the long-term development of the organization. To solve these problems and realize the sustainable development, promoting a transformation has become the only way for all kinds of disabled service organizations. The pressure of survival and long-term development are the original power that making the disabled services organizations change. The quality of services is the foundation for all the disabled service centers and the key of the transformation is improving the supporting and caring service. Thus, regarding the services as a core, NX strives to provide more professional services for its clients by improve direct services and indirect services. First, in basic services, NX has made great change in serving, teaching, layout and resource linking etc. Second, the most obvious change in management are that inducing enterprise management model and develop more profitable programs. The transformation of NX has achieved initial success, but also has encountered plenty of challenges. The author has analyzed specifically from the views of managers, workers, clients and external environment. Social work is a subject which aims to help people professionally, and as its branch, social work in disabled area has accumulated plenty of experiences and theories. So, social work plays a key role both in disabled supporting and caring service and all kinds of disabled services organizations. The author believed that social work is quite important in helping these organizations promote the transformation by three ways which are setting full-time positions for social workers, promoting the integration of the ideas of social work and values of the organization, guiding the other unprofessional workers to learn knowledge about social work systematically.This articles consists of six chapters. The first chapter is introduction. This part will show you the background of the development of disabled supporting and caring service, the overall ideas of this study and research methods. The second chapter is the literature review, reviewing and combing related academic outcome on disabled supporting and caring service. The third chapter is about the background of transformation of NX, including three parts:current situations of NX’s operation, difficulties and problems during the development and the necessity of transformation. The fourth chapter shows that how the NX implement the transformation specifically from the transformation of basic service and operation model. The fifth chapter analyzes the challenges and problems during the transformation from the perspective of different subjects of clients, mangers etc., according to the stakeholder theory. In the sixth chapter the author will give some suggestions from the perspective of social work according to the issues during transformation process of NX.
