The classroom teaching of art in primary and secondary schools has significant functions in improving students’cognitive development and moral awareness levels. In primary and secondary school in rural areas, students have limited chance to receive art education. Making use of art classroom teaching to guide and edify students to develop the sense of beauty will help to provide a more interesting and colorful studying environment for students, as well as to combine knowledge learning with the development of beauty and moral senses. Unfortunately, current classroom teaching of art in primary and secondary schools in rural areas of our country is not well developed, therefore deep analysis of its status is of great importance.Current study is based on the general art education background in primary and secondary schools in rural areas of our country. It focuses on rural areas of Xinyang. By using the method of interview, researcher has analyzed the reasons and strategies of existed problems and provided solutions for them, so as to provide directions for art education of primary and secondary schools in rural areas, as well as reference for art teachers working in the field.There are four parts of current study:The first chapter mainly discuss the reason and purpose of subject selection, as well as the content of investigation and method of assessment. This has provided detailed background information for the whole study.The second chapter mainly discusses the current status of art education in primary and secondary schools in rural areas, focuses on teaching methods, application of education resource and students’learning goal. Then concluded problems exist in classroom teaching.The third chapter analyzes the reason for the problems exist in art education of primary and secondary schools in rural areas from four aspects:the attention paid by people on art education, teachers’teaching level, the use ratio of course resource and the teaching environment.The fourth chapter discusses strategies and measures to improve classroom art education in primary and secondary schools in rural areas by raising attentions to classroom art education, improving development of teaching major, varying art classroom teaching model and so on.
