The current society is characterized by the rapid development of information, which has accelerated the changes in the field of education. The very traditional teaching method of cramming cannot satisfy the needs of students’ self-development, while the inquiry mode with the students as the subject has been valued, advocated and applied by the most teachers.However, it has been found out that the research of inquiry learning concentrates on theoretic aspects through the study of its research status. Meanwhile, the research of practice and application centers on the so called "main courses", mainly in middle schools, higher vocational education and universities. According to the points of range and phases of subjects, the way of applying the inquiry learning in the information technology course in primary school has became a major concern. Through the literature analysis, the author has summarized the instructional design and implementation mode of inquiry learning. Meanwhile, the instructional design of inquiry learning has been framed out by the teaching internship and specific curriculum contents. Practicing this mode in actual teaching and comparing the efforts of implementation of the inquiry learning plans have provided the same curriculum with some references and application cases.This study mainly completed the following aspects of the work:This essay has combed the research status of current inquiry learning through detailed study of intensive literature both at home and abroad. Thus it has presented the topic of the essay, its research significance, and the summary of relative theories about inquiry study, which provide the theoretic support for the design of the inquiry mode of learning in primary school information curriculum.Constructs the instructional design and implementation mode of inquiry learning in the information technology course in primary school. Through the analysis of the learning content of information technology course in grade four, combined with the characteristics of primary school students, the specific teaching case of inquiry learning is designed. At the same time, the case has carried on the concrete practice teaching and the study appraisal.In order to test the effects of inquiry method, we evaluate and analyze students’ theme works, the measured questionnaire, specific analysis of the inquiry learning in the information technology curriculum in elementary school after application. Through the comparison of learning effects before and after the implementation of inquiry based learning plans, we found out the problems that should be paid attention to in the application to consider in a timely manner.Finally, it is the comprehensive summary of the design and implementation process of the application of inquiry learning in the information technology course in primary school. It also has analyzed the shortcomings of it and the way to improve it.
