When learning mathematics as an abstract discipline relatively strong, learners need a highly logical thinking. In traditional mathematics teaching, teachers usually filled students’ brains with the complex theoretical content using the ancient form of preaching, making more and more students feel hard to study mathematics, therefore mathematics has become a large teaching difficult subject. As the curriculum reform, the status of information technology has been increasingly important in teaching, and information of mathematics education has become an inevitable trend. In order to change the cramming education of traditional mathematics and develop the learners’ ability of innovative and thinking, I decided to research the implement of primary school mathematics and design its information teaching form based on the basic education.The study is divided into four parts. The first part illustrates the research background, the purpose and significance, the content and the research methods of the issue, as well as the literature review of this article. The basic concepts and related theories of inquiry learning are studied and explained in the second part. The third part studies the application of information technology and the mathematics teaching status in primary school referring to the teachers’ and the learners’ viewpoint, summarizes the mathematics problem in primary school, and analyzes the advantages of IT in primary mathematics. The fourth part is the focus of the study, which analyzes the elements of inquiry learning activities IT supported in primary mathematics based on the basis of theoretical, proposes the corresponding design principles and design process, applies it to specific teaching practice, and tests implementation effect. Finally, the research proposes the conclusions and outlook of the study, summaries deficiencies of the teaching practice, and put forward the idea about the development of information learning activities on mathematics. The different from the past is that it is no longer simply the form of PPT, but exploring various forms of information technology as a platform or tool inquiry learning actively. Effective integration of information technology and elementary mathematics, will train more new types of talent in line with the social development needs.
