The 2011 compulsory education English Curriculum Standard emphasizes on facing all students and focusing on different characteristics and individual difference among language learners. The promotion of small-sized class education in Yanji city also poses new requirements and challenges on class management.The previous scholars mainly studied the class management theories but with little research on how to improve English teachers’class management level in junior middle school under the background of small-sized class education. This research analyzed the problems existed in English class management in junior middle school under the background of small-sized class education by investigating its current situation; further, the relevant theories were combined to analyze the factors to affect the junior middle school English class management and then put forward specific measures to improve the class management under the background of small-sized class education through interview and document literature.This research took 50 teachers and 300 students in Korean middle school in Yiji city as the research samples with the main contents as follows:(1) to investigate the current situation of junior middle school English class management under the background of small-sized class education; (2) to analyze the problems existed in the class management under the background of small-sized class education; (3) to explore the factors to affect junior middle school English class management under the background of small-sized class education; (4) to put forward effective countermeasures that are suitable to junior middle school English class management under the background of small-sized class education aiming at the current situation, existing problems and influence factors.The conclusions were as follows:(1) the junior middle school teachers’class management level under the background of small-sized class education was general, of which the classroom objective, classroom interpersonal relationship, classroom time and classroom task management levels were higher than classroom discipline, classroom assessment and classroom environment management levels. (2) Under the background of small-sized class education, the teachers with 10-19 years of experience, the first-grade teachers as well as head teachers’ class management levels were higher than that of other teachers. (3) The recognition degree on class management of the students in the class of head teachers, grade 7 students and students with good performance was higher than that of other students.According to the research results, the following suggestions were proposed:(1) give play to the advantages of small-sized class education, change the concept and get rid of old habits to become an innovative teacher with period feel; (2) use various training opportunities to increase the awareness and knowledge about class management.
