To promote students' overall development is not only the concept of the reform of basic education, but also the core teaching idea that the new curriculum advocated. Classroom teaching must consist on taking the people-oriented principle and promoting the students' development. How to evolve students' subjective activity and to display students' personality with their dominant position have been the core that people cared more and more. The contradictions that occur with the concept of the new curriculum and the problems come from the present big-classroom teaching force us to review the effectiveness of big-classroom teaching, and to build a new teaching model in order to adapt to the society's development and the demand of teaching.The small class teaching model that focus on self-study based on the equality and fairness, mutually beneficial win-win situation, double-sides adaptation, personality diversity, multiple integration and other principles. With the actual teaching practice in BaChuan middle school, this model gradually develops into the "three stages and six steps" model. The three stages mainly includes early preparation stage, self-study and results show stage, and the feedback and evaluation stage. In the concrete operating process the six procedures are the design of teaching plan, the arrangement of environment, previewing, group cooperative learning, results showing, evaluation and feedback. Each stage and each step goes further and further also relate to each link. In the perspective of the theoretical value, after the test of long period practice this model goes up to the theoretical level, to build the theoretical basis of the small class teaching model for education and teaching, so as to provide a better instruction for our practice. In the perspective of the practical value, during the long period test of practice, with the continuous fix and test, we develop it into a mature teaching model. Thus we can improve the universal application of small class teaching and provide a better security for displaying its function.The Implementation of small class teaching model that based on the self-study in junior middle school is built on the process of self-study, problem solving, and last the feedback and evaluation, just with these steps' evolution, small class teaching model broke up the shortcomings of big class teaching, such as the lack of subjectivity of both teachers and students, the lack of interactivity among students, the lack of openness and generative character and so on. Thus the small class teaching can promote development of students get the overall optimization to some degree, change the center from teacher to the student, promote the facilitation of teachers' management, under this situation the effectiveness of teaching can be improved, and can also promote the great development of education and teaching. While this model's actual implementing does go smooth all the time, during the process of practice we are facing some confused problems, such as the link between middle school and primary school, the lack of high quality teaching faculty, the problems of students and teachers' burdens and the quality of education and teaching, these problems worth each educators' careful thinking and then the working to solve these problems are required.The middle or small class teaching model that based on self-study in BaChuan middle school will concern more about the study of small class, and through learning from the lessons, we can improve teachers' professional standard, update their teaching concept and care the students' subjective position so as to make a overall arrangement for the students' development. At the same time we are increasing the input to the small class teaching, in order to promote the small class teaching model that based on the self-study can develop towards a more mature direction.
