The Research Of Performance Evaluation On Arts Colleges

Since the last century, with the expansion of the the scale and the enrollment in colleges and universities, the higher education experienced the change from elite education to the public education. However, colleges of arts still use the model of elite education. For the particularity of colleges of arts, the evaluation system of common universities and colleges are not adoptable. Therefore, this paper will lay focus on how to efficiently evaluate the performance of arts colleges and establish a set of professional, adaptable and practical performance evaluation system.Since the last century, with the expansion of the the scale and the enrollment in colleges and universities, the higher education experienced the change from elite education to the public education. However, colleges of arts still use the model of elite education. For the particularity of colleges of arts, the evaluation system of common universities and colleges are not adoptable. Therefore, this paper will lay focus on how to efficiently evaluate the performance of arts colleges and establish a set of professional, adaptable and practical performance evaluation system.Take Nanjing University of the Arts as an example, DEA is adopted to evaluate performance of second-level colleges, which reflects the current situation of the performance of this college. It exhibits the efficiency and trend during years of 2010 to 2014, trying to find the common problems of performance evaluation of other Arts colleges, so as to offer valuable references to education investors, administrators, executors and demanders.Through the analysis of efficiency, productivity index and trend of changes on CCR model of DEA, BCC model and calculative results of Malmquist TFP Index, this paper has summarized the following a couple of conclusions:Firstly, the education and scientific research performance of Arts College of Nanjing are in nice operation, while the administration and culture diffusion performance are not well operated in some aspects; Secondly, education performance of all colleges during 2010 to 2014 is working steadily, with rising trend on research performance.Some of the colleges began to focus on administration performance, with uneven development on culture diffusion; Thirdly, based on the current situation of Nanjing University of the Arts, this paper put up some suggestions on its future development, exert expectations on the performance of all the arts colleges and universities as a whole, and promote all-side development of arts institutes in our country with optimized distribution of resources and improved operation efficiency.
