It means teachers should select the teaching methods of the geography course according the characteristics of the teaching content, the characteristics of students’age and the school conditions.Targeted use of the methods including inquiry teaching, the discussion, experience, lecture-type teaching, research, team learning, cooperative learning, practice, case teaching, multimedia teaching,etc can help students to grasp the basic geographical facts, concepts and skills, enhance the ability to learn geography and form of the correct attitude, emotion and values.Thus, at the present stage, our country’s geography teaching pays more attention to the student’s principle function. The choice of teaching methods is more flexible, and the class is more open and colorful. The choice of teaching methods is an important factor that affects the teaching effect.But a lot of teachers in the choice of teaching methods is random.At present, the research on the choice of teaching methods is more from the perspective of teaching theory.The research of geography teaching method is relatively few. Limited research on the teaching methods of high school geography, is more concentrated at the natural geography (compulsory 1) and Human Geography (compulsory 2) research. The research on the high school geography teaching method is relatively few. The purpose of writing is to improve personal teaching method theory system and to guide the daily teaching activities,on the other hand, expect to make a push of choosing strategies of high school geography teaching methods.This paper focused on the selection strategy of regional geography teaching methods in high school is devided into five parts.The first part is the introduction of the paper.It focuses on the research significance, research status at home and abroad, and the research objectives, methods and technical route.The second part "the description of the regional geography content in the high school and the knowledge classification" is to define the content and range of the "high school geography ".And classify the knowledge of the regional geography in senior high school based on the knowledge classification theory.The third part "The basic concepts, classification and existing problem of the regional senior high school geography teaching methods " is elaborates the related concepts, teaching methods of classification and selection of teaching methods about the high school geography teaching methods.The fourth part" the principles and strategies of choosing the high school geography teaching methods " is based on the high school geography teaching content and according to the declarative knowledge and procedural knowledge characteristics to put forward the principle of the selection of teaching methods, and put forward the selection strategy for the high school geography commonly used teaching methods.The fifth part is about a case study based on the selection strategy of regional geography teaching method in Senior High School. The purpose is to apply the theory to the practice.At last, the research of this paper is summarized and the existing problems in the research are summarized.
