Chinese composition teaching in senior middle school has attracted much attention all the time. While lots of theories and practices of raising the level of composition teaching emerge, it still has many problems. After investigation of this phenomenon, one of the reason is that theories of composition teaching went wrong and the other one is associated with most middle school Chinese teachers’ lack of theoretical attainment of writing. To perfect the situation, we need a feasible and practical theory of composition teaching as a guide. In addition, Chinese teachers are supposed to continuously learn theory knowledge and combine the theoretical knowledge with effective teaching practice, so as to improve the level of composition teaching.Among many scholars of Chinese composition teaching in middle school, Sun Shaozhen is an author with many works to his credit and has great influence. Especially, his theories of text reading and conceptions of composition teaching have provided huge help and guidance for Chinese teacher in middle school. When reading Sun’s composition teaching theory, I profoundly approve his viewpoints about teaching. After his composition teaching theories were collected and organized, this paper systematically studied Sun’s theories from three aspects:the narrative teaching conception, argumentative conception and combination of text reading and writing teaching. On this basis, through investigating and analyzing the present situation of high school Chinese composition teaching, combine Sun’s composition teaching conception and teaching practices, this research gave some specific advice aiming at the existing problem of the current composition teaching, in order to do some help to the future research on Sun’s Chinese composition teaching theories and Chinese teaching in middle school.
