This essay, taking the research on the teaching of Luxun’s works as a starting point, gives teaching research on the Luxun’s works under the background of new curriculum. By adopting the methods of literature research and textbook analysis, it gives analysis on the teaching value of Luxun’s works and the selecting and editing way of his works in new curriculum textbooks. It finds out that works of Luxun are fulfilled with the values of Chinese literary knowledge, ideology, and spirit. Therefore, his works are excellent materials for Chinese teaching; the selection and edition for his works in new textbooks has made a big progress, which shows the dominant role of students, the realistic value of Luxun’s works, and the diversified text interpretation. The author also takes the practice school as an example, and studies on the current condition of the teaching of Luxun’s works by adopting the methods of questionnaire, interviewing, and class observation. The result shows that students generally prefer to Luxun’s works selected in the textbooks, but they have difficulties in understanding the languages, the thoughts and the backgrounds of him, and their imagination of Luxun keeps them away from him. Compared with the development of the textbooks, during the process of teaching Luxun’s works, teachers’ quality has to be improved, the teaching model is rigid, the teaching content serves only for taking examinations, and the teaching method and evaluation standards are single. Therefore, it is hard to fully realize the teaching value of Luxun’s works. Based on these issues, the author proposes some suggestions: firstly, teachers should change their teaching concepts in terms of goals and key points of teaching, teaching pattern, and teaching evaluation; secondly, teachers can adopt some creative methods such as overall recognition, intertextuality, and the combination of writing and reading, so as to realize the teaching value of Luxun’s works.; finally, besides the classroom teaching for his works, teachers have to carry out extra teaching of Luxun’s works in a positive way, improve their own proficiency, and instruct students to carry out various leaning activities about Luxun’s works so as to combine the class and after-class and promote the teaching quality of Luxun’s work.
