Study On The Intergenerational Transmission Of Social Capital

Currently, the economy and society of our country progress rapidly, at the same time some social problems have become increasingly prominent. The problem of intergenerational transmission of urban poverty has aroused a heated discussion among scholars in many fields, which has become a social problem that cannot be ignored. There are many reasons for the cycle of urban poverty, this article mainly explain it from the intergenerational transmission of the social capital.This paper firstly expounds the concept of social capital, systematically analyzes the operation mechanism of the social capital, and explains its role in the social relationship network. Secondly, this thesis is trying to explore the roles of the“Diversity-orderly Structure” and the “Ethic-centered" from the Chinese traditional culture background. From which we can learn that in the background of China’s traditional culture, social capital is inherited and developed through the inheritance.There is a difference in the total amount of social capital between the different social classes. The upper social group has the rich social capital, and the lower part,the social capital is very scarce. The negative effect of the intergenerational transmission of social capital will affect the free flow of the social classes, and the channels of flowing to the upper class in the poor strata are narrow. If the intergenerational transmission effect of social capital has been strengthened, it will lead to the class solidification, seriously affect the social fairness and justice, socialdevelopment will also lose its vitality. In the long run, it is not conducive to the healthy movement of the community, and will ultimately hinder the development of social economy.Therefore, it’s important to explore the intergenerational transmission of social capital,to block the transmission of social poverty, to promote the flow of social class,and to build a socialist equity and justice.
