Senior high school Chemistry school-based curriculum is an important part of elementary education curriculum reform, and it is a necessary complement to the national curriculum. Besides, it is an innovation of the teaching methods and the learning style comparing to the basic courses. Senior High School Chemistry Curriculum Criterion encourages the full development and utilization of a variety of Chemistry curriculum resources to enrich Chemistry curriculum content. High schools develop Chemistry school-based relying on the local curriculum resources has a positive theoretical and practical significance.Ningyang County, which emphasizes education very much, has always attached great importance to the development of the school-based curriculum. The school-based curriculum which has been an indispensable part of daily teaching has achieved fruitful results. Ningyang County has a large population, vast territory and abundant resources which can be developed and applied to the development for school-based curriculum. Full development and utilization of the native curriculum resources and applying them to the development of school-based curriculum is feasible and necessary.First of all, this thesis expounds the value, goal, principle, form and procedure of the school-based curriculum development. Second, the thesis takes a case of Chemistry school-based curriculum development in Ningyang A senior high school as an example, to analyze in detail the development process including:curriculum objectives, the establishment of the organization, resources and student demand analysis, curriculum project and content, curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation.The senior high school Chemistry school-based curriculum named Chemistry in Life has achieved obvious results in the development process. Also, there are some limitations and difficulties in reality which bring obstacle to school-based curriculum development. Finally, the thesis looks ahead to the prospect of school-based curriculum development in the hope to generate more public discussion and academic research.
