The development and implementation of school-based curriculum has become an important part of the new basic education curriculum reform. Teachers’ awareness of curriculum is the key factor affecting curriculum development. The development of school-based curriculum calls for a strong school-based curriculum awareness of teachers.The research of teachers’ awareness of school-based curriculum is necessary and important.On the basis of understanding the concept of "school-based curriculum" and "curriculum consciousness",we have found the structure of teachers’ consciousness of school-based curriculum and some problems in the process of development of teachers’ consciousness of school-based curriculum by empirical studies. In addition, we put forward some suggestions according to the existing theoretical basis.On the basis of the literature review, this research used some research methods such as field research, questionnaire, observation, interview and content analysis. Through the questionnaire survey of 180 junior high school teachers who in five junior in Jiangsu Province and Shanghai, we went to understand the level of development of teachers’ awareness of school-based curriculum. Furthermore, according to the four-month field research in N middle school, we got the following conclusions: teachers’ awareness of school-based curriculum presenting arousal state overall, but the level of awareness of school-based curriculum structure appears uneven, the degree of arousal value of teachers’ awareness of school-based curriculum is higher. The level of teachers’ awareness of school-based curriculum associated with whether hold the post of elective teachers, teacher’s conception of curriculum, the cultural atmosphere of the school and other factors. Secondly, according to the purpose and tasks of the research, and the nature of the problem, we choose N junior high school as a case,and choose two representative teachers, according to the basic situation of the school, the system of school curriculum and teachers’ professional behavior and ideas and so on, shows the development process of teachers’ awareness of school-based curriculum, describes its development of the internal power system, external support system and performance system.Finally,based on the conclusion of this study, this research attempts to promote the development of school based curriculum consciousness from two aspects:the self consciousness and the reflection of the school based curriculum consciousness and the support system.Suggestions for teachers’ inner self recognition and reflection:Update the cognitive and practice actively, enhance the concept of individual teacher education, improve the teachers’ awareness of questioning and reflection in the school-based curriculum;Suggestions on the foreign support system:to improve the curriculum system of the school, to create a learning organization culture in the exchange of dialogue, to carry out targetedschool-based training.
