Research On Current University Of Teacher’s Morality And Relatives Measures In Our Country

The university teachers in colleges are specialists who fulfill higher-education teaching responsibility and undertake the mission of imparting knowledge, educating people and improving the national quality. The university teachers’ moral level has direct effects on the healthy growth of contemporary university students. It’s necessary to conscientiously sum up the experiences of university teachers’ morality construction and to analyze the major problems and reason of the teachers and to make some positive suggestions about promoting the overall level of university teachers’work. And it is fairly valuable theoretically and academically.Full paper contains three major parts:Part Ⅰ, on the basis of cleaning up the relative conceptions about the university teachers’morality, this paper points out its significance from five aspects:the first aspect is the basic requirement of promoting the teachers’ comprehensive development and constructing the high-quality team; the second one is the urgent need of creating the new socialist man and realizing educational target in universities; the third one is the key link of coordinating relationship between teachers and students and constructing a harmonious college campus; the fourth one is the realistic demand of improving the teachers’ awareness and cultivating and initiating the socialist core values; the last aspect is the important guarantee of purifying the ethos education industry and achieving continuous progress of human society. Part Ⅱ, with questionnaire investigations and actual interviews of some colleges in Wuhan, we can see that the trend of university teachers’morality has been developed fine. But there still exist a lot of problems as follows:values have strayed from a high sense of responsibility; teachers seem indifferent to students; propagation of corruption in scientific and academic research is a serious problem; teachers have a weak image and can not be a model for students and so on. Then analyzing the causes of these major problems as follows:the influence of the globalization of world economy; the contradiction between social ideal and teachers’ personal pursuit; the defects of teachers’ management and system; the lack of moral education and the relaxation of teachers’ morality. Part Ⅲ, this paper finally discusses the countermeasures that reinforcing and improving the university teachers’morality:attach great importance to the university teachers’morality work; innovative education of the university teachers’morality; construct a good environment of university teachers’morality and build an effective mechanism for the university teachers’morality work to serve higher education better.
