With the development of educational reform, a variety of new teaching models have sprung up. Due to the lack of vigor and vitality in senior high school ideological and political teaching, the majority of ideological and political teachers expect that students’ interest will be aroused by adopting innovative teaching methods and ideological and political teaching will be passionate, high-qualified and effective. However, the new teaching models is usually problematic in teaching practice. Therefore, how to create a harmonious, democratic and equal ideological and political class has become a breakthrough in senior high school ideological and political education reform. The theory of classroom ecology makes it feasible to solve this problem. The theory of classroom ecology is the most important part of the theory of educational ecology at the micro level. On the basis of the theory of ecology, the theory of classroom ecology attempts to analyze the relationship among teachers, students and environment which are factors in the ecosystem, create a practical and reasonable classroom environment, eliminate the teacher-centered teaching belief as well as advocate a teaching model which is based on cooperation and collaboration, respects for diversity and promotes the teacher-student and student-student interaction. It provides a theoretical and practical foundation for creating a multidimensional and effective senior high school ideological and political class. There are many problems in the senior high school ideological and political teaching, such as the imbalance of the classroom environment, the imbalance of the subjects and the imbalance of teaching. In this study, the author mainly analyzes the problems and the causes and aims to propose some approaches and strategies for promoting the ecological model and offer some references for further researches by using the questionnaire and interview.The study can be divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction, which mainly talks about research background, research significance, research methods, reviews the literature and provides some related definitions. The second part mainly introduces the meaning of ecological model in senior high school ideological and political teaching and its significance. The third part is an investigation and analysis of the present situation of ecological model of ideological and political teaching in senior high schools. In the forth part, the author tries to disclose the causes on the basis of an in-depth understanding of the present situation. Some approaches and strategies for promoting the ecological model in senior high school ideological and political teaching will be presented in the last part.
