With urbanization and people’s living standards Improving, parents’ children educational philosophy is also changing.In order to let their children enjoy better education,many parents choose to have their children leave the countryside to the county,town or city,to finish their education.Because of the decrease of school students,the small remote mountain village is also fading.Currently, there are only few students and teachers in the most remote mountain elementary school.Rural teachers in remote mountainous areas is a special group,their own situation of professional identity related closely to the development of rural education.In this study,I selected a teacher in rural mountainous primary school of Jiangxi Province for my study,and applied qualitative research methods.In order to have a good control of rural teachers in remote mountainous areas, and learn about their career choice and experience,I will apply the way of observation and deep interviews,and analysis the teaching career with Life Course Theory.Three questions will be concerned:what is the Development process and characteristics of rural teachers’identity of their profession;what influenced their Professional identity;how these life events influenced the development of rural teachers’professional identity.This thesis consists of four chapters.In the first chapter, the research value and focal point are discussed, and makes statements on the core concepts, theoretical foundation,and introduce research methods;The second chapter is a description of my case’career; The third chapter,use the The life-course theory to explain the case’ occupational career and professional identity;The forth chapter is conclusion and discussion,many macroscopic, microscopic factors have effect on rural teachers’ identity,and rural teachers faced with the dilemma of role reversal,the discussion is about the Influential Factors in rural teachers’ professional identity. At the end of this thesis is the summary and reflection of this thesis, and its’ shortcomings,also the inspirations bringing to me.By concerning on rural teachers,this study was expected to show the existence of rural teachers in remote area,and give guidance on a correct understanding of their identity to rural teachers. At the same time, we also hope that this study enables rural teachers in remote areas receive more care and support.
