With globalization of world economy, China is keeping a closer tie with the rest of the world, tourism industry in China is developing at a quicker pace than ever before. Thus, more talents with higher quality are needed. Graduates of higher professional education are a main force in the makeup of job-holders of the tourism industry. So, more attention has bee focused on how to change the current situation and build a more effective market-oriented higher professional college in order to cultivate more high-qualified talents for tourism industry. The research sets out on the investigations into the management of internship in the talent cultivation mode of college-enterprise cooperation in higher professional education in Hainan.First, based on the analysis of data from many countries, a definition of internship is given, as well as characteristics, objectives and tasks of internship.Second, through analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the talent cultivation mode of college-enterprise cooperation by applying principles of the SWOT theory, the paper puts forth problems such as lack of system guarantee, indifference of employers, mal-arrangement of work posts, bad curriculum planning, inadequateness of faculty and absence of career awareness of the graduates.Third, based on the experiences of tourism industry internship in China and other countries, conclusion has been reached that underlying the success of internship practice is the rules to regulate the co-operation of college and enterprise, organization to be set up for the co-ordination and systems that help encourage the participation of the enterprise and a wholesome assessment system.At last, a case study is done in H College, which focuses on the tourism majors performances and requirements of the tourism industry, the paper points out the problems in the process of internship and proposals about the strategies are given to solve the these problems to ensure the improvement of the overall qualities of the graduates, which helps to bring down the resignation rate in the internship period. In doing this we saved no efforts to strengthen the building of a faculty of double qualified teachers, so we reached a win-win relationship among the college, enterprise and the students as well and I hope the research may be of some help to other colleges of higher education.
