With the time development and teaching innovation, cultivating “Autonomous learning” is becoming an important teaching strategy in modern education teaching. Autonomous learning is not only the effective way of teaching reform, it also laid the foundation for the sustainable development of the individual, it is also the needs for individual’s life development. Scientific development cannot leave the “autonomy”. If there is no “autonomy”, it is impossible to talk about “development and innovation”.This study investigated students’ mathematical autonomous learning situation of Honghe Nationality Normal School. It is also analyzed the factors which influence the students’ mathematical autonomous learning ability and put forward countermeasure for improvement. This thesis investigated different individuals and conducted case analysis, and found out their disadvantages and advantages in order to fully understand the students so that merger internal cause and external cause to cultivate students’ autonomous learning.This research mainly adopted literature analysis, questionnaire survey, interview and case study to investigated students’ autonomous learning in Honghe Nationality Normal School. The questionnaire concludes six dimensions: learning motivation, learning methods, learning time, learning environment, self monitoring and self evaluation. Questionnaire survey results shown that the students’ autonomous learning situation is not optimistic. They lack of initiative in learning mathematics and do not master correct learning methods; they can not create a good learning environment; their self-monitoring and adjustment ability is not high and they can not form a correct self-assessment. Aiming at this status quo, according to the theories of autonomous learning, and combining the characteristics of vocational students and teaching experience, strategies to improve the students’ mathematical autonomic learning ability were put forward:1.Stimulating students’ learning motivation; 2.Strengthening learning method guidance; 3.Training and improving the students’ self-monitoring ability; 4. Guiding students’ correct self-evaluation; 5.Building autonomous learning conditions and environment for the students, and then selecting cases and according to different cases, utilizing strategies flexibly and reasonably, and finally drawing the conclusion.This research confirmed that cultivating vocational school students’ autonomous learning ability can improve the students’ interest in mathematics learning, improve the students’ study habits, improve the students’ academic performance, and enhance the students’ learning initiative.
