Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, with the development of higher vocational education, the state organizes and runs more and more higher vocational teacher training. However, there is a remaining deficit in the effectiveness of training. Consequently, how to make the training more effectively, grasping the current training and training needs analysis is essential. This study is aiming to provide some suggestions for enhancing the pertinence and validity of higher vocational teachers’training through survey and analysis of the training situation and need of higher vocational teachers in Jiangsu province.Based on the document collected of the training of higher vocational teachers, I have designed the questionnaire survey and interview outline, doing the research on training of higher vocational teachers in Jiangsu.400 questionnaires were sent out and 369 were effectively collected. The valid response rate was 92%.It is observed that the form of expert lectures is still playing a dominant role in the training of higher vocational teachers in Jiangsu province, training content mainly focused on theoretical knowledge, training time is usually scheduled during summer and winter vocation. The higher vocational teachers in Jiangsu province obtain a more satisfectory training, and have relatively strong training needs. In the aspect of training content, teachers have more strong demand for educational research. For the training form, the form that can interact with experts and trainees is highly recommended. For the trainer, the trainer with rich experience is more welcome. For the training timetable, training during summer and winter is more preferable. For the training motivation, most teachers are voluntary for training.The training situation of higher vocational teachers in Jiangsu province is optimistic, but there also are some problems, such as the training requirement of higher vocational teachers includes organizational requirements, task demands and individual needs, there are both consistency and difference among the three. The paper mainly analyses the training situation and need of higher vocational teachers in Jiangsu province and puts forward some suggestions, first to do well the analysis of requirement, second to optimize training materials, third to perfect the training form, fourth to ensure training time, fifth to guarantee training funds, sixth to establish an incentive mechanism.
