Modern education aims to develop and improve the quality of the students which makes it clear to let every student develop in the teaching process. But for a long time under the influence of the college entrance examination baton, high school teaching one-sided pursues enrollment rates, is confused by simple examination and has neglected student’s quality oriented education, making more and more students poor students. Because mathematics is abstract, careful-thinking,inferential and systematic, many students think mathematics is more and more difficult. Researches have shown that with upgrading the number of students in poor math obviously increases. As a result, the formation of students in poor math is inevitable to quality oriented education, which has become the focus of education. In this paper, the research mainly has the following several aspects:The first part reviews the definition of learning difficulties both at home and abroad, puts forward in this paper the definition of mathematics learning difficulty of students, combs the domestic and foreign research of formation of students poor in math and gives the meaning of the paper,content,and the proposed method.The second part expounds the related theory of research question,mainly including multiple intelligence theory, recentdevelopments,which are related to psychology and mathematics learning theory and plans to the main strategies of hierarchical teaching, individual counseling and emotional education and so on..The third part investigates and analyzes cause of the formation of students’ poor at math. Firstly interview teachers and understand of present situation and basic transformation strategy of students’ poor at math and explicit the feasibility of this research; Secondly make targeted three interviews of chosen students who are poor at math in order to further understand learning problems in mathematics; Finally,on the basis of the previous two interviews, formulatequestion naires for different levels of students in mathematics and analyze the cause by comparison.The fourth part classifies the students’ poor at math according to case study and points out clearly the main cause of formation.The fifth part is the typical case study. For the three selected different types of students’ poor at math,it mainly uses methods of natural observation and interview survey, attempts to reveal scientifically and concretely their aspects of the situation and characteristics from the people-oriented view to explore countermeasures to students poor at math.The sixth part is summary and reflection.
