Research On The Cultivation Of College Students’ Legal Thinking

Legal system of our country has developed from nothing through the efforts of the past several generations since the founding of New China. As a basic strategy of ruling the country, the rule of law is the most important part of man’s legal culture. Ruling the country by law is the mark of human civilization and social progress. The 18 th National Congress of Communist Party of China, which was held in November 2012, further set up the strategic guidelines of fully advancing the law-based governance of the country..And it has addressed that our country should improve the leading cadres’ ability of using legal thinking. As an important force in the construction of the rule of law, college students should cultivate their legal thinking ability. It not only helps to speed up the process of the rule by law, but also helps to improve students’ integrated capacity.Although schools have the course “Ideological and moral cultivation and legal basis”,there are some problems in college students’ legal thinking which are influenced by society, family, school and many other elements. Thus, the research on the cultivation of college students’ legal thinking has become an important research topic.In this paper, a questionnaire was addressed to analyze the problems existing in college students’ legal thinking and explore the causes, which started from the current situation of their legal thinking. With a view, it can benefit for the construction of ideological and political education of university. There are four parts of the paper. The first chapter serves as the introduction to this thesis, specifying the research background,the research significance and the research ideas and methods. It also reviews and analyzes the related domestic literature. The second chapter briefly states both the concepts of the rule of law and the concepts and characteristics of legal thinking, and then summarizes the significance of cultivation of legal thinking. The third chapter uses the questionnaire survey methods to objectively analyze and summarize the current situation about college students’ legal thinking.The results and analysis show that the law awareness and sense among college students are very faint, and their level of legal cognition is low. Then the author analyzes the causes for these problems. In the last chapter, the author discusses and puts forwards some measures to cultivate collegestudents’ legal thinking from the four angles, such as society, school, family and individual college students.
