When it comes to the understanding of open class, the relevant literature indicates that the open class in primary and secondary schools is a important practical teaching activity to explore the law of teaching and teaching method, and to improve teachers’ professional quality and professional development. From the connotation of open class,we see that its objective is to promote teachers’ development based on teaching and research activities. However, with the new class reform forward, although the position of open class in primary and secondary schools is more and more important and the open class teaching activities have been widely carried out, there are hiding cognition misunderstanding of open class behind this vigorous circumstance: schools and teachers put too much attention on “students”,“teaching” and “teaching technology”rather than “teacher”, “ research” and “scholarship”.Open class effectiveness refers to the effect or extent of the purpose of open class achieved. And the effectiveness refers to whether it can promote the exchange of teachers teaching, whether it is conducive to the promotion of teacher professional development. Based on itself research significance of open class and combining with the understanding of the scholarship of teaching, the author made a bold attempt to promote efficiency improvement of open class in primary and secondary schools from the perspective of scholarship of teaching.Through the analysis on the meaning of scholarship of teaching, this study focuses on five aspects including knowledge reserve, teaching and research, putting results to the public, exchanging and evaluation and reflection of teaching. Combiningwith the five aspects, the author compiled the questionnaire to survey. The results showed that there is low efficiency about open class in primary and secondary schools definitely embodied in the four aspects followed: imbalance in the structure of knowledge and disconnection between theory and practice; weak research consciousness and low knowledge generation; low frequency in communication and conservative tends in open class; low quality of reflection and much empirical reflection. Combined with the survey and self reflection, the current lack of effectiveness in open class is mainly influenced by the dominated traditional teaching mode, technical evaluation, weak educational theory knowledge and imperfect research mechanism. So, based on the dialysis about causes and combining with the connotation of the scholarship of teaching, the author designs six suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of open class in primary and secondary schools: establishing a complete teachers’ research training system; attaching importance to teachers’ accumulation of education theory knowledge; clarifying the value and main point of open class; constructing perfect teaching evaluation system of open class; developing the function and role of school teaching and research groups; enhancing teachers’ summary and reflection ability in open class.Under the current background of educational research view gradually moving downward, it has become essential for teachers to develop related researches based on their own practical problems during teaching or relying on a small subject. The introduction of scholarship of teaching is beneficial to help teachers establish teaching research consciousness, improve teaching research level, and promote their professional development. But due to the weak theory foundation, the author made some thinking of open class in primary and secondary schools under the academic perspective, but also reflected the deficiencies of this research which is some supplement to the study.
