Under the guidance of our country to the education preferential policies in Xinjiang, minority education has been a very good growth.Especially the promotion of bilingual education policy have brought more extensive learning opportunities for minority students and teachers.But there are still some problems, In the research and practice, the author found that bilingual students have some difficulties in mathematics study.This paper took the fifth graders of primary school as an example,trying to find the difficulties in teaching,and strive to put forward the solution strategy for the problems of bilingual students’ math.And the test volume and class practice statistical results were compared to find out the difficulties of students.The paper aims to explore the teaching difficulties for bilingual students in grade five. Firstly, combing previous studies thoroughly by Literature Method, and then analyzing students’ testing papers and exercises. At the same time, making a contrastive analysis between the testing papers and exercises to find out difficulties for students. Next, analyzing the survey findings for students and the interview results of teachers to confirm the difficulties. At last, finding out the reasons of difficulties and putting forward some strategies. In the end, proposing two teaching designs of difficulties.This research mainly includes six parts. The first part is introduction, which mainly includes the source, purpose and significance of this study, research method and the structure of thesis. The second part is literature review, mainly discussing relevant researches on teaching difficulty and its concept definition. The third part states the investigation process, which aims at teaching difficulties for grade five bilingual students from three schools in Urumqi City, Tian Shan Area. Firstly,analyzing students’ exercises according to chapters. Next, counting the error rate of every knowledge point and finding out the teaching difficulties from exercises. Then,analyzing the difficulties value of testing paper and finding out the teaching difficulties from testing papers. At last, making a constrative analysis between the two test results to find out the teaching difficulties by combing the interview results of teachers, namely, small number times small number, solve problems by multiplication rule of decimals, a number divided by the number of decimal, solve problems by division rule of decimals, express numbers by letters, the meaning and nature of the equation, solve equations, practical problem and equation, the area of composite figures, and so on. The forth part, finding out the reasons of the difficulties accordingto the above data analysis. The fifth part, finding out the effective strategies and designing two teaching difficulties to provide a reference for practical teaching. The sixth part is conclusion and outlook, proposing the deficiencies of this study.Because of limited theoretical and practical capacity, the teaching suggestions are not comprehensive. In addition, maybe there are some problems because these teaching strategies are not applied to practical teaching practice, which is the breakthrough in the future.
