The activities taken by Chinese entrepreneurs, including recognizing and exploit opportunity, provide a good chance for further study about “people‐opportunity” paradigm. After analyzing these entrepreneurial stories in Chinese context, it will help to answer two core issues of”how will the entrepreneurial behavior look like in Chinese context” and”what will the entrepreneurial behavior look like when facing different types of opportunity”.First of all, the paper define the scope of study and research objects after sorting out research on business, entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial behavior and entrepreneurial opportunities both at home and abroad, and acquire research data through in‐depth interviews of entrepreneurs. Secondly, The paper uses qualitative research methods, such as case analysis and grounded theory, to obtained six entrepreneurial behavior figures, and the general rules in the Chinese context after further comparison and analysis. Thirdly, the paper put forward five propositions about the characteristics of entrepreneurial behavior,as well as three propositions about the discrimination of entrepreneurial behaviors when facing different types of entrepreneurial opportunities. Fourthly, after further compared with existing theoretical literature,“the small‐scale trials and imitation” and “social network digging and maintaining” is not mentioned in the western literature. And at the same time, entrepreneurial motivation, entrepreneurial path selection, the attention to the government policy will be different when facing different types of entrepreneurial opportunities. Lastly, we discussed the theoretical progress and practical implications and pointed out the limitations of this paper and future directions for further research.
