Transportation is the fundamental service industry; the social economic activities arebased on the normal operation of the transportation industry. Road transport is an importantpart of transportation, evaluation indexes can measure level of road transport industrydevelopment and its contribution to the social and economic development, thus confirmingindustry development whether to stay in the right direction, make the public understand theimportant role of road transportation industry, prompting the government to ensure economicand social resources effectively into the road transport industry, so setting up a set of indexsystem is great important.Based on the provincial road transport industry, this paper collects and review the roadtransport related statistical indicators at home and abroad, analyzes the road transportationmeasurement index system comprehensively., through the understanding of the developmentof road transport industry and its contribution to economy to build the basic evaluation modeland index system hierarchy, puts forward the basic assumptions of index system of roadtransportation development level and its contribution to the economy. Aiming at theshortcomings of the existing index system, according to the supplement and perfect theprinciple of index selection, this paper complements and perfects the indexes, finally from thelevel of development index and contribution index to build the evaluation index system ofroad transportation development and contribution, at the same time, analyzes the usage andthe use way of newly constructed index system. In view of the nonexistent index in currentstatistical system, this paper puts forward a proposal to obtain. At last, based on the newlyconstructed index system, analyzes of the road transport industry inAnhui province.This paper investigates the research situation of evaluation index system of developmentand contribution in road transportation industry at home and abroad research situation.Through analysis, build a set of simple, intuitive, explicable evaluation index system ofdevelopment and contribution in road transportation industry, to reflect the development levelof road transport industry and contribution to the development of social economy; help thegovernment to make industry policy scientifically and the public to understand the road transport industry thoroughly.
