With the rapid development of social economy, the development of logistics industrygets greatly support and advocacy from the state and government in recent years, and theplanning and construction of logistics park and logistics center are also arising. Both localgovernment and logistics enterprises attach great importance to the development of modernlogistics industry planning. Logistics volume is one of the important parameters of thelogistics system scale, it is the strong support of planning logistics system, and plays animportant role in the design of logistics facilities, guiding equipment selection, etc. But fromthe current situation, the logistics statistical work in our country is still in primary state, stillhas no statistical indicators about logistics volume, has not yet established a more perfectlogistics statistical indicators system. And the current theoretical research on the definition oflogistics volume is not enough clear, statistical caliber has failed to reach agreement. In thelogistics planning and construction activities, because of the lack of relevant statistics for thelogistics volume of the whole society, People often adopt the method of approximate oranalogy, using freight volume replace logistics volume to analyze the specific logisticsdemand, however, the analysis results via this method usually is unreasonable, so do with thelogistics planning. Because of the close relation between freight volume and logistics volume,how to get the conversion coefficient of logistics volume and freight volume, based on theexisting freight volume statistical data, do the quantitative analysis of logistics volume isurgent and necessary. With the quantitative analysis and research of logistics volume, Thearticle hopes to provide more accurate and credible logistics volume data as reference for thefuture logistics nodes planning; At the same time, hops to provide some ideas and directionfor the future and further studies on the logistics statistical indicators, in order to betterpromote the development of China’s logistics statistical work.Based on the domestic and foreign basic relevant theoretical research about the logisticsvolume and its prediction, etc. this paper mainly studies on the concept and the connotationdefinition of logistics volume, and its classification and calculation problems, carried on thethorough elaboration, detailed analysis and introduced the existing problems in our country’s current logistics statistical indicators, such as incomplete and lack of data, then put forward the thought of analyzing and calculating logistics volume according to the goods operation process happened in the logistics activities, via analyzing the main operation process involved in the logistics activity of different goods, choosing freight volume as the main research object, studying the conversion coefficient of logistics volume and freight volume (CCLF), and take some kinds of typical goods for example, such as coal, grain, etc. Eventually get the conversion coefficient of logistics volume and freight volume (CCLF) of their transportation lines and logistics nodes. The results show that the transportation routes CCLF of coal, grain, and fresh agricultural products are, and the logistics nodes CCLF of grain, fresh agricultural products are5.33644,6.6565separately. In the end, the paper puts forward to the CCLF calculation model of how to use the whole society’s freight volume statistics to get the logistics volume.
