Land-Use and Land-Cover Change (LUCC) is one of the important parameters in theassessment of global environment change and it also can affect the quality of human life andthe development of social economy.Taking Quanzhou city as the study area, this study collected TM remote sensing imagedata of1995,2000,2005and2010for Quanzhou and obtained a total of4Quanzhou land-usemaps nearly15years through the interpretation combining with the using of remote sensingsoftware as ERDAS, ENVI, ECOGNITION and geographic information system software asARCGIS. It set up the status quo of land-use, characteristics of quantity structure anddatabase of evolution and calculated the basic pattern of land-use status to return the evolutionprocess of distribution features of land-use digital nearly15years in Quanzhou through theindex of landscape ecology.Through the calculation of the transfer matrix of land-use types, markov model wasestablished to simulate the land-use change matrix and forcast the land-use status for the next10years of the study area. The main conclusions of study:(1) In the land-use type of Quanzhou, the largest percentage area is forest land, anaverage of6773.31km2accounted for about60%of the total area. Followed by the cultivatedland, an average area of1922.62km2accounting for17.3%of the total land area. Area ratio in2010from big to small order is in turn: forest land> cultivated land> construction land>garden land> unused land> water area.(2) Land-use change status from1995to2010in Quanzhou area is shown as: the biggestchange area is construction land757.55km2, followed by the cultivated land is464.03km2,third is woodland160.32km2, the minimum amount is unused land10.66km2. According tothe absolute area increase or decrease is sort as: construction land> farmland> forest land>garden land> water area> unused land.(3) During the study period, the mainly transformation types of land-use in Quanzhou:cultivated land-construction land, forest land-garden land, garden land-forest land, forestland-construction land, construction land-water, forest land-unused land. Among them themost obvious one is cultivated land-construction land and the transfer time is long and thearea is large.(4) The maximum absolute value of single dynamic degree is the construction land inresearch period,8.39. The minimum absolute value of single dynamic is unused land, a valueof-0.14. The comprehensive land dynamic degree presents the first high after low trendnearly15years in Quanzhou center. It impacts severe during1995-2000and the highestcomprehensive dynamic value is7.87followed by gradually reduce.(5)Recent15years of Quanzhou, the quantity of landscape level, cultivated land type etc. increased and average patch areadecreased and degree of landscape fragmentation increased. At the whole landscape level, landscape patches is serious by human interference, rich diversity, forest landscape typessuperiority and degree of land-use rich.(6) Through the calculations of markov model, it predicts land-use situation of2010,2015,2020. It mainly presents the cultivated land is decreasing and the construction land israpid increasing in the future land-use change of Quanzhou.
