Research On Improving Of SG Tianjin Company Finished Product Warehouse Management

Since the21st century, warehouse operations and inventory control have becomemore diversified and complicated. In an increasingly competitive market environment,more and more enterprises believe that professional and efficient warehousinglogistics activity is an important method to effectively gain the market competitiveadvantage. The enterprise warehouse management is the key element of enterpriselogistics activities. Therefore, the enterprise warehouse management activities leveltremendously influenced the effects of the entire enterprise logistics operations.On the basis of carefully researching the overall structure and inventorymanagement status of the SG-Tianjin Company finished product warehouse, thisdissertation analyzed the existing problems in the finished product warehousemanagement. ABC analysis method was used to classify the customers’ grade,re-planned the storage area of the finished product warehouse, and put differentemphasis on the goods of the different grade customers. Barcode technology was usedto improve the finished product warehouse work and operational procedures and solvethe manual operation problem.In order to improve the finished product warehousemanagement activities, this dissertation designed the overall structure of thewarehouse management system, such as system design principles, system target,system function structure, bar code structure, network structure and so on. In addition,this dissertation also discussed the function of each module in the WMS anddescribed the operation method of the modules and the corresponding processdiagram so that these could explain the operation method and management pattern ofthe WMS more directly. The re-planning storage area and WMS which used bar codetechnology had been tested in the SG-Tianjin Company warehouse and achieved goodresults.Researching on the improvement of the management activities in the SG-TianjinCompany, provided some experiences of improving warehouse management activitiesand constructing system informatization. Therefore, these experiences could bereferenced by various types of storage and distribution center in the production andsupply fields.
