Covering urban functions of commercial, office, residential, hotel, catering,entertainment, culture and art, convention and exhibition and so on, HOPSCA hascharacteristics of saving land for construction, compositing urban functions, creating avariety of urban space. Because HOPSCA has greatly effect to promote the overallimage of the city, improve the life in urban areas, at the same time creating hugeeconomic benefits, so it attracts the attention and welcome of the government and realestate enterprises. A lot of cities across the country have established policy toencourage the development of the HOPSCA. As a result, the development of theHOPSCA construction activities in our country is spreading rapidly.Retail function relates to the integral service facilities supporting of levels ofHOPSCA, to a large extent decides area of radial force and vitality of the HOPSCA.The present situation of the retail development in our country, the environment and thedirection directly affects the future development strategy of HOPSCA project. Onlywith the development of retail, HOPSCA can attract the consumer to the greatest extent,so as to realize the mutual support and help between various urban functions, and haveimplementation of the entire project economic and social value. The author thinks that,it is very necessary to study on the development strategy of HOPSCA from theperspective of retail in China.The development strategy of the HOPSCA in China as the research object,basedon the perspective of retail, this paper is divided into four parts:The first part: theoretical basis part. This paper combed the domestic and foreigntheoretical research results on the retail, HOPSCA and the relevant theory. First of all,this part elaborates the value of urban space structure, mixed use, city value and theother theories about HOPSCA; then observes the retail evolution theory, consumerbehavior and related literature in aspects of retail theory research in China, anddescribes the two-sided market theory and the long tail theory; lay the theoretical basisfor this paper.The second part: Firstly, this part introduces the HOPSCA’s context and therelated concept, reviews the developing course of HOPSCA in China, analysis ofdevelopment present situation, summarizes the development characteristics; Secondly,discusses the relationship between retail and urban HOPSCA, clears retail in HOPSCA comprehensive form of business functions in the body, and from a business typeconfiguration, channel mode, the customer relationship in three aspects on theinfluence of the retail of HOPSCA; Finally, based on retail perspective from thepopulation, economy, consumer behavior, market competition, technology, these fiveaspects to analyze the development environment of the HOPSCA.The third part: The conclusion part. Based on the analysis of the development ofHOPSCA, clear interactive relationship retail and HOPSCA, based on analysis of thedevelopment of the environment HOPSCA, this part proposed HOPSCA maindevelopment strategy in the future from a business type of configuration, channelmode, customer relationship, development and operation subject.
