Under the background of economic globalization, economic integration and cultural diversity, more and more enterprises make investment in other foreign countries. As to the host country, using foreign capital has become one of the important methods to promote economic development. As a kind of modern economic organization form, sino-foreign joint venture adapts to the needs of both sides of chinese and foreign enterprises. But under the background of cultural diversity, there are a series of cross-cultural management issues in the business process of Sino-foreign joint venture because of cultural differences. Promoting culture melting through cross-cultural management and building common enterprise culture are good ways to promote the development of sino-foreign joint venture. Performance appraisal of cross-cultural management is a good way to evaluate the efficiency of cross-cultural management strategies and measures in sino-foreign joint venture enterprise. The analysis of performance appraisal of cross-cultural management is the basis of adjusting management strategies and methods. Only in this way can the sino-foreign joint venture develop smoothly.Sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province is the study object of this article. Under the basis of analyzing previous studies of cross-cultural management, this article focus on cultural difference first, then analyse the current situation of the development of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province. After analyzing the cultural factors which influence the development of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province, this article build the comprehensive evaluation model used to evaluate the performance of cross-cultural management of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province. On the basis of making questionnaire survey among employees of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province, the article do the empirical analysis work to evaluate the performance of cross-cultural management of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province. After performance appraisal, this article analyses the current situation of cross-cultural management of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province. Finally, the article put forward concrete suggestions to promote the development of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province.According to empirical study, the article can come to the conclusion that:(1) In general, the performance of cross-cultural management of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province is just so so;(2) The performance of dealing with cultural difference and promoting cultural intergration is good, but the cross-cultural training work is not good. There is still much room to improve the performance of cross-cultural management of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province;(3) We can improve the performance of cross-cultural management of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province through the following methods:respect cultural difference and avoid cultural discrimination; enhance the cross-cultural training work; promote the localization strategy; build a common enterprise culture recognized by chinese and foreign staff.The main innovation points of this article are:formute KPIS of cross-cultural management performance evaluation; evaluate the cross-cultural management performance of sino-foreign joint venture in Shannxi province firstly through questionnaires.
