| Road transportation can connect thousands of people, high speed and high efficiency ofusing land is the character of highway which could optimize transportation network. Theimprovements of road transportation also contribute to the economy as well as daily life ofpeople. We have already built “hour transport circle” and highway network. At the end of2013, the mileage of Chinese highway has reached101000km which is the longest in theworld.The first highway Kyung-in highway was built in the year of1968in Korea. After thedevelopment of45years, Korea highway has changed the mode from construction tooperation and control. The area of Korea is small as well as mileage of highway which is only4044km. Road mileage is105800km.The introduction of Korea highway and Chinese highway come first since the differencecondition between two countries. Mileage, average traffic lane, National Household TravelSurvey and Commodity Flow Survey is included in this part.The highway transport data sources of Korea and China were analyzed and comparedsecondly. There are three transportation sources in Korea, which are Korea TransportationDatabase, Traffic Monitoring System and Korea Expressway Corporation Database. In China,the data of transportation is China Highway Transportation Survey. This data is achievedfrom toll data system, combining with sample survey on road.Passenger capacity and cargo capacity comparison in road transportation is the maincontent in this thesis. The effect of highway in transportation system, transportation market isdiscussed and the influence of high-speed train is included as well. According to theseanalysis, we can predict the tendency of transportation and used by government.Korea has a longer history of highway, we can learn some good experience from Koreaand the suggestions of highway transport were proposed. For example, traffic volume data isupdated each month and all the other data is the latest. |
