Research On Performance Of Work Breakdown Structure For Complex Product Project

Complex products have become the leading industry which promotes the developmentof manufacturing, the high requirements of market for products have brought newchallenges to the project management, work breakdown structure (WBS) providing decisionsupport for complex product project management has practical significance. Complexproduct project work breakdown is a process of iteration, gradually thinning, the processwill be affected by the complexity of product and a lot of outside uncertain affecting factors,effect on WBS performance weaken the guiding role of WBS in the actual projectmanagement, Therefore, need to collect and analysis the relevant parameters after WBS wasestablished, before the project start, forecast work breakdown performance indicators whichreflects the execution efficiency and effectiveness of project, and accordingly adjust the taskunit planning. In this paper, based on a lot of literature reading and case analysis, thecomplex product project work breakdown performance is analyzed, expands the existingtheoretical research scope, and also has certain reference value to the actual operation ofcomplex product manufacturing enterprises.Firstly, this paper starts with the status of complex product manufacturing enterpriseproject management, points out the problems and reasons existing in the process of theproject, analyzes the material environment, system environment and cultural environmentthat assure efficiency and effectiveness of project implementation. Secondly, uses systemdynamics model to analyze the factors influence the performance of complex products andproject work breakdown and mutual relationship, and simulates complex product lifecycleprocess considering the influence factors. Thirdly, by using system thinking, from theoverall view, based on extent of the influence factors on work breakdown performance,constructs the performance security mechanisms work decomposition of complex productproject, evaluates and verified the effectiveness of the mechanisms model we constructedfrom microscopic layer. Finally, from perspective of strengthening basic investment,improving the decision-making ability, enhancing their core capabilities, in order to putforward the corresponding countermeasures to ensure the work breakdown structureperformance of complex product manufacturing enterprise.The study is carried out from twoaspects of theory and practice on work breakdown performance, provides adaptiveadjustment basis to ensure the operability of WBS model.
