In the new period of the changeable market environment, enterprises faces all sorts of new challenges. The manager’s leadership largely represents the level of an enterprise organization operation, so the success of an enterprise often depends on managers’leadership. The success of an enterprise is part of because it has lots of outstanding leaders, not just top managers, but also managers with good leadership in each level. Excellent enterprise will consciously and systematically train manager’s leadership, make sure that each layer of managers can take on leadership responsibilities. one important way to Enhance the level of enterprise leadership is to build a leadership competency model within the enterprise. An effective leadership competency model not only has the ability to build management echelon, but also can be regarded as the reference standards of managers training and the selection of managers, it can clearly define what leadership qualities are required for business success. This paper reviews the domestic and foreign research data related to leadership competency model, summarized the existing research results on leadership competency model building. With A company as A case, we analyze the present situation of the A company’s operating management, and expounds the pressing needs to build a leadership competency model. In summary on leadership competency model building method at home and abroad, and on the basis of in combination with the practical situation of the company, we selects appropriate building methods such as interviews, questionnaire survey method, benchmarking method, etc., to complete the leadership competency model building design for A company. And then actual application value of the leadership competency model are analyzed in detail in all aspects of human resources management of A company. Finally, the full text is summarized. All in all, this article based on the analysis of the present situation of management of A company, discusses the leadership competency model building method and process and the application value of Leadership competency model in human resource management system. It has certain reference significance for domestic enterprises relating to build a leadership competency model.
