In recent years,The numbers of nature reserves in China is growing faster. With the development of protected area, the contradiction between nature reserve and surrounding farmers is increasingly intensified. So the effects of the protection zone’s construction for the surrounding communities and farmers have become the focus of current research. This paper aims to compare with the farmers in different areas of the reserve and studies the effects of the protection zone to the farmers’ production and farmers’non-farming employment. Employment situation reflects the farmers’ living standards. So then we discuss the effects of the construction of nature reserves for farmers’ employment. Using the Logit model to analyze the influence of farmers engaged in non-agricultural employment. We found that the influence of the location variable was small. But such as farmers’ age, gender and education had the significant influence. After that, The income of farmers includes the production income. We analysis the impact of the construction of protection areas for local agricultural production through the C-D production function and DEA production efficiency model. Using the grain output as the dependent variable, the fertilizer input and peasants’ personal factors inputs as variables. We found that the construction of nature reserve has positive influence on farmer household production. And then,we use production efficiency model to prove the conclusion. So we got the conclusion that the construction of natural reserves in China to the farmers’ production had a positive impact, but for the non-agricultural employment of the surrounding farmers had little effect. In spite of that, we still need to guide the rural surplus labor transfer in order to improve reasonable use of rural labor force resources.
