Regional economic Disparity is a common economical and social problem, moderate Disparity canaccelerate the development of regional economy. while too large disparity would lower the enthusiasm ofpeople to take participate in economic construction, aggravate contradiction among different regions andhampered coordinated development of regional economy severely. The Central Plains EconomicRegion(CPER) is located in the heartland of china, is a region that have great potential for development inthe whole country. However, which faced the trouble which regional economic Disparity had unbalancedin recent years. Therefore, a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth analysis of the economic discrepancyfor seeking appropriate coordinated regional economic development countermeasures of CPER are urgentlyneeded. This paper chooses CPER as the research object, through understanding the concept of economicdiscrepancy and according to practical development situation of CPER, building a comprehensiveevaluation index system of the Central Plains Economic Region’s economic discrepancy. On the basis ofMoran’s I and General G indicators, by using ESDA spatial analysis techniques, measured the economicdiscrepancy of the CPER synthetically. From the spatial and visual angle to reveal the economic spatialpattern of CPER and its evolvement rule since2000, and on the basis of explore the influence factors, putsforward coordinated developing suggestions of CPER.Through empirical analysis:①Significant Disparity was found at the urban municipal district level inCPER during study period, the overall distribution is “west high, east low”, relative economic disparitybecome narrowed;the economic lagging phenomenon is more serious.②Economy development at thecountry level in CPER is in a low level, the characteristic of differentiation is significant, the overalldistribution is “west high, east low”; the characteristic of point axis is obvious; and has dual economicfeature.③Economy at the country level in CPER have spatial autocorrelation and high value clusterphenomenon.④In the perspective of country level, the economic development level in2005is the mostbalanced compared with2000and2011. From the spatial distribution of four types of areas, hotspotsshowing dual-nuclei spatial structure, this structure is the most significant in2005, the central region showed "weak core driving." The distribution of Sub-hotspots are around the hotspots, the feature of layerstructure is significant, showing core-periphery model. Cold spots changed drastically and theagglomerate quickly from the west, southwest and south of CPER to the east; and gradually connected intopieces in the east.⑤The main factors which affect the economic Disparity of CPER are: resourceendowments, location, regional policy, the level of urbanization, industrial structure, informatization andhuman resources.
