Since China takes the policy of reformation and opening, private economy hasbeen expending by leaps and bounds. However, the problems of labor relations havebecome the essential factors restricting their development. Building harmonious laborrelations is not only related to the harmonious development of labor relations inenterprises, but also to the stable and benign operation of the social order. This thesisincludes six parts as follows:Part One: It proposes the significance of the study. The study of Shanghai SJCompany will contribute to build harmonious labor relations for itself in a practicalsense, and to make up insufficient for the studying of labor relations in practice. PartTwo: It conducts a review of the literatures. It reviews and points out the insufficientof previous studies. And it analyzes the practices to build harmonious labor relationsof domestic and foreign enterprises, and try to draw beneficial inspiration from thepractices. It believes that the building harmonious labor relations of foreigncompanies is primarily through institutionalized path such as independent third-partyorganization, perfect labor relations legislation and effective labor relationscoordination mechanisms. While the domestic enterprises is throughnon-institutionalized path such as “Cali Maci” leadership charisma and building ofenterprise culture. Part Three: It analyzes the practical situation of Shanghai SJcompany labor relations. It introduces the problems of Shanghai SJ Company’s laborrelations, and its main features are increased labor conflicts year by year and diversity.This paper chooses two typical labor conflicts of1.23and12.8occurred in Shanghaiin recent years as case study materials, and analyzes their causes, processes andcountermeasures. During the practice study of Shanghai SJ Company’s labor relations,it finds that poor working conditions and wage arrears are two major causes of leadingto a conflict about labor relations. Part Four: It analyzes the root causes of leading to aconflict about labor relations, which are special social environment of financial crisis,lacking of incentive mechanism in business management, the lack of the spirit of thepeople and vulnerable social status of employees.Part Five: It makes some recommendations to build harmonious labor relations ofShanghai SJ Company. From the experience to build harmonious labor relations ofdomestic and foreign enterprises and the special circumstances of SJ Company. This paper based on the Dunlop’s labor system model theory. It should build harmoniouslabor relations from three levels of governments, businesses and employees. Firstly,the government should strengthen the legislative and empower of unions, strengthenthe supervision of enterprises and add the coordination person in enterprises; secondly,enterprises should establish coordination mechanism of both employers andemployees, strengthen the role of trade union organizations and build the enterpriseculture; thirdly, employees should strengthen teamwork and learn legal knowledge.Part Six is a summary and review of the foregoing.
