The Study On The Current Situation And Influencing Factors Of Service Industry In China

Developing the service industry vigorously is good to help upgrade our industry andpromote the economy to develop perfectly. Based on the analysis of the relevant literature,discover that the study on the overall development of service industry in China covers asmaller scale and earlier time range. Moreover the study on the impact factors limits on thepolicies after conducting empirical and theoretical studies and lacks an internationalcomparative analysis. Considered the current situation and impact factors of serviceindustry in China as the research object, this paper analyzes the current situation and impactfactors and compares the stage of development of each factor. Based on this in order toprovide policy advice to national authorities, make policy recommendations to acceleratethe development of service industry in China.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part using the1990-2012statistics compares the development of serviceindustry in China longitudinally, and find out the service industry develops strongly.Secondly using the2000-2012statistics compares the current situation of service industryin China with in developed countries including UK、US and Japan and in developingcountries including BRICS who have the similar condition of development. After the studyfinds that the gross of service industry is low, the ability of absorbing labor is insufficient,the labor productivity is low and the international competitiveness is weak.The second part using the method of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,analyzes the impact factors of service industry in China. The result shows that:①Improving manufacturing labor costs help to improve the proportion in GDP of theservice industry in China.②Deepening the urbanization helps to improve the employment effect.③Increasing the manufacture labor costs and gross enrollment rate help to improvelabor productivity of service industry in China.④Increasing the manufacturing labor costs and openness help to improve theinternational competitiveness of service industry in China.Secondly taking the every factors into an international comparative perspective,explore the development of each factor. Find the level of the development of each impactfactor is lower than other countries including the lack of the mechanism of introduction andcultivation of the talents, the insufficient domestic demand, the low ability of the supportingindustries and the degree of the competition among the domestic enterprise.The third part proposes to increase the level of consumption, accelerate theurbanization, eliminate the “pseudo-urbanization”, adhere to both the development of advanced manufacturing and service, make efforts to improve the openness andconsummate the mechanism of training and introducing talents.
