Yuncheng has unique conditions for agricultural production, and it also enjoy the title of Shanxi" Ukraine". The total output of wheat and cotton in Yuncheng accounted for more than50%of the province, and the total goods of wheat and cotton in Yuncheng accounted for more than70%of the province. The production of fruit, vegetables, livestock, asparagus, fish and other agricultural products all ranked first in the province. Especially in recent years through the vigorously adjust the agricultural structure, apple planting area reach to more than200million acres, the annual output of apple more than1.8billion kilograms, Yuncheng becomes the one of the national high quality apple producing area. At present, wheat, cotton, fruit, vegetables, and livestock are the five pillar industries in Yuncheng, the advantages of Yuncheng is rich resources to develop the characteristic agricultural and sideline products, and the prospect is promising.The first part of this article is to introduce the research background and research significance of thesis, as well as the present situation and characteristics of the characteristics of domestic agricultural products competitiveness; and then describes the knowledge and basic theory of characteristic agriculture, the thesis takes the theory of comparative advantage and the SWOT analysis as the main theoretical guidance, through the analysis of related theory of characteristic agriculture development, to explore the theory basis and the evaluation method system for the development of characteristic agricultural products.The second part is based of the detailed analysis of landform, climate, market demand, agricultural situation and other conditions of Yuncheng characteristic agriculture development, and then to comprehensively analysis and research the types, regional distribution, development model, competitive advantage and the existing problems of Yuncheng characteristic agriculture.The third part is to put forward related suggestions according to the problems in the Yuncheng characteristic agricultural products competitiveness. In this paper, the results for guiding the Yuncheng characteristic agricultural products development prove a certain reference value.
