Study On Promoting Competence Of Logistics Industry In Fujian

In recent years, our government offered active policies to support thedevelopment of the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone. Under such amacroeconomic context, as the core of the Economic Zone, how does Fujian Provinceget rid of the plight of "north-south pincer attack" and promote the economic takeoffof the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone? It has become the common concern ofthe community. With the rapid development of economy, the logistics industry hasmore and more positive effects on economic growth. It has become a generalconsensus to enhance the competitiveness of the regional logistics industry. The levelof competitiveness has become an important indicator of the overall strength in acountry or a region. In order to take full advantage of the economic growth pole effect，we must develop the logistics industry and improve the logistics industry competition.Therefore, research on the promotion of the logistics industry competition hasimportant significance.This paper applies positive research method, combined with normative researchmethod. Firstly, the author reviews the conception of the logistics industrycompetition and the relevant theories on the basis of the research at home and abroad.Secondly, the author collects statistics and makes a comprehensive analysis on thepresent situation of the logistics industry in Fujian Province with chart method fromfive aspects. The five aspects are overall summarization, infrastructure, industry base,operation efficiency and industry environment. Thirdly, the logistics industrycompetition is broken down into three elements: industry operation ability, industryinput and output ability and potential competitiveness and the author builds anevaluation index system of logistics industry competition from these three elements onthe basis of the evaluation principles. Fourthly, the paper adopts the data envelopmentanalysis method to evaluate the logistics industry competition in Fujian Province fromcrosswise and longitudinal aspects. Then, we can know the Fujian Province’s logisticsindustry competition level among the four provinces in West Coast and thedevelopment trend in recent five years. Lastly, according to the conclusion of empirical research, the author offers five suggestions: strengthen the construction oflogistics network and enlarge the scale of transportation; improve the efficiency ofresource utilization and reduce the total cost of logistics; optimize the structure oflogistics industry and establish the supporting status of the logistics industry; improvethe logistics practitioners’ quality and enhance the innovation ability of logisticsindustry; work out favorable policy and support the healthy development of logisticsindustry.
