Employee’s voice behavior may have a positive effect on organization’s creativity, and get it to be more flexible. With the escalating dramatic change of the external environment, its operational implication for organization’s development is much more profound. The current research of the antecedents of employee’s voice behavior mainly focus on the employee’s demographic character, the Big-Five personality traits, leader-member exchange (LMX) relationship, organizational justice and organizational culture. Meanwhile, the inner mechanisms of these researches are mostly social psychological factors. However, the employee’s behavior in the organization not only affected by his own characteristic and rational thinking, but also constrained by the social network which they embedded in. From the perspective of social network, the only few research barely focus on several network index (such as network size and network centrality), rather than an overall picture of the organizational network. Therefore, though analyzing the employee’s work-related communication network, this paper will cut in from the whole picture of the organizational network, in order to study the inner mechanism of the employee’s voice behavior.Middle way thinking is typically of the Chinese way of thinking, the core pursuit of it is to find the overall optimal, paying attention to the interaction of all things, and being harmonies. Under the guidance of this way of thinking, employees have the intrinsic motivation of speaking out about the shortage and the improvement of the organization operation process. While, if constraint by its capability of finding the suggestions, the may not display voice behavior. Self-monitoring is the accurate measure of the individual’s capability of social interaction. It helps employees to get much more external team network ties. Social network perspective considers the individual’s external ties will bring them heterogeneity information which is critical for them to identify the problems. Since middle way thinking and self-monitoring give the employee both capability and motivation to voice, the employee with the two traits above will get easy to give their constructive suggestions.Representative role is one of the five broker roles. Its unique network structure brings them social prestige, external information and other resource, and thus enhances their performance and creativity. The employee with typically middle way thinking and high self-monitoring, for its much higher IN-inDegree centrality which middle way thinking brings and much high OUT-outDegree centrality which self-monitoring brings, is much more likely to be a Representative.Draw the following conclusions based on the evidence of a large high-tech company which consisted of 43departments 523 knowledge workers in eastern China:First, the employee with typically middle way thinking and high self-monitoring is much more likely to show voice behavior. Second, the number of times an employee acts as the representative positively related to his voice behavior. Third, an employee with typically middle way thinking and high self-monitoring, for its much higher IN-inDegree centrality which middle way thinking brings and much high OUT-outDegree centrality which self-monitoring brings, is much more likely to be a Representative. Finally, the representative role acts as the mediator of an employee with typically middle way thinking& high self-monitoring and his voice behavior.
