Research On Sustainable Livelihoods Of Landless Peasants In Urbanization

Rapid urbanization has become the main theme of the China current economic development, urban transformation and expansion of the Metro affect peasants’ traditional mode of production and living, accompanied by a large number of agricultural land is occupied, landless peasants become increasingly large groups. Land has been expropriated, there was a series of problems of the economic level, employment, social security and their own rights and interests when peasants into the city, such as embarrassing identity and position makes it become marginalized vulnerable groups in towns. Development problem of landless peasants is related to the success of urbanization and stability of a harmonious society, so the study th e sustainable development of the landless peasants has a strong practical significance.In this study, combined the concept of the landless peasants and sustainable livelihoods, support for analysis framework of sustainable livelihoods analysis framework for theory, emphasis on "landless peasants" is the main body, in the development of living depends on its own livelihood capital stock improving development capability, in under the protection of external system, give full play to get maximum feasible, can achieve their livelihoods, achieving sustainable livelihoods. Through the questionnaire and the interview form, surveys before and after the land has been expropriated farmers Jixian economic changes, employment, social security situation and satisfaction cases, found the Landless peasants economic level no obvious significantly improved, severe employment problems, the current life satisfaction is more general, lack of government security system and other issues, to verify that the sustainable livelihoods of landless peasants widespread problem.To further analyze the root causes of problems, Landless peasants can be divided into pure agricultural, semi-industrial type semi-agricultural, non-agricultural type three types, selected indicators from both the capital and the ability to adapt livelihoods and tried to build sustainable livelihoods evaluation system, using AHP to determine the weight of the index weight and quantitative data, estimates the sustainable livelihoods of different types of landless peasants and analyze the results., non-agriculture type of landless farmers’ livelihoods capital stock and the ability to adapt significantly higher than the other two types of farmers, the pure agriculture farmers at a disadvantage position, mainly reflected in the lack of work skills, employment difficulties, low family income, pension insecurity and so on. The overall statistical results are consistent sample indicated that most peasants in developing predicament. Finally, according to findings from the farmer’s own level, government level and social dimensions propose targeted solution to the problem. According to the research results, from two aspects of the different types of landless peasants’ problem and external policies proposed targeted countermeasures and suggestions.
