An Research On The Influences Of Industrial Agglomeration On Export For Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry

In recent years, electronic information industry in Jiangsu Province has acquired a leap development. By 2012, the value of export of industrial enterprises above designated size exceed one trillion yuan for two consecutive years, which accounts for more than half of the export in the province. Along with the rapid development of export capacity in the electronic information manufacturing, the industrial clustering is remarkable. Currently, the province has 32 national and provincial electronic information industry base and parks which forms a dense information industry belt along the river or the Shanghai-Nanjing line. Then, in view of the above phenomenon, whether the development of electronic information manufacturing industry agglomeration has an impact on its export growth? This paper makes a further system research.Firstly, this paper reviews the researches on industrial cluster theory, international trade theory and the effect of industrial agglomeration on export. Secondly, it elaborates the effect mechanism of industrial agglomeration has on export. Thirdly, on empirical research, this paper makes a accurate calculation and system analysis for the agglomeration of electronic information industry in prefectural-level city and three regions by the indicator of HHI. Fourthly, it builds a static and dynamic panel regression model according to the effect of agglomeration on the export trade and makes a metering test and regression analysis. The study finds:the agglomeration of the province’s electronic information industry has a significantly positive effect on export trade. But the effect of agglomeration is not obvious in the south and north region of Jiangsu. The reason is that the agglomeration diseconomies caused by excessive agglomeration hinder the development of export trade. On the contrary, the industrial agglomeration in north region of Jiangsu has a positive role on the export trade. The other factors, whether or not to consider regional differences, the productivity levels and firm size have a positive effect on the regional export trade. But the effect of new product technology has on export trade is not significant or even negative. In terms of the level of foreign investment, it shows a significant characteristic of regional differences, and the effect of it on export in south region of Jiangsu is positive and not significant in north region of Jiangsu. Finally, based on the regression results, this paper proposed some advices for the export trade of electronic information industry in Jiangsu Province from the perspective of industrial cluster development, innovation construction and optimizing export.
