The Form Evolution And Tourism Spatial Structure Optimization Research Of Dujiangyan City

Urban form is the spatial form and internal partition formed by major dominant urban elements(buildings, roads, rivers, etc.) with specific requirements. It is the reflection of urban physical characteristics showing the laws of evolvement of space and region brought upon by its inner contradictions, politics, economy, society, or culture. In addition, it is the dynamic space structure and manifestation formed by the integration of the whole and its part, and the material and the spiritual.Dujiangyan is a tourist city. However, its focus has always been on the world cultural heritage of Qingcheng mountain and Dujiangyan. With such unbalanced pattern of tourism development, the city’s tourism lacks incentive for sustainable development. In fact, ever since the ancient times, the urban form of the historical and cultural city of Dujiangyan has experienced various changes with the change of urban function. Through the post-disaster reconstruction project of establishing AAAA scenic spot of the ancient city of Guanxian, the ancient city has become the core of the city and its most glorious tourist attraction. It will also become the new force for tourism development for Dujiangyan city. Therefore, from the perspective of morphology and combined with the current construction status of this city, the author will explore the optimization of urban form and the promotion of tourism planning with the ancient city of Guanxian as its core while providing new planning ideas and reference for the development of the city’s tourism.This paper can be divided into four parts. The first part is about the research background, research significance and the object of this article. The author also summarizes the achievements of researches in domestic and foreign urban form as well as the content of researches in tourism development of Dujiangyan city. In addition, it contains the definition of the concept of urban form, the discourses based on the theory of urban morphology, supplemented by a variety of related theories and integrated with the urban form from the perspective of comprehensive tourism. The author also puts forward the research direction of studying urban form from the perspective of tourism.The second part is about the history process of Dujiangyan’s urban form from the aspects of nature, geography, and historical process. The author points out that the mountains and water systems are the important factors for shaping the city framework; it reveals the history and rules of ancient city from, that is from Mangcheng city, trade city, the city of water conservancy, military town, to the tourism city. The author includes in this part that the factors such as location, logistics, trade and urban nature are the important factors affecting the evolvement of Dujiangyan’s urban form.The focus of the third part is the urban tourism and its form. From the perspective of time, the author analyzes the emergence and development of Dujiangyan’s urban tourism, the regional status of the city, the current status of tourist attraction and tourist traffic, and the existing problems of the city’s tourism. The author also refers to the latest city tourism layout planning to provide some instructions for solving the existing problems.In the last part, the author focuses on the relationship between urban form and urban tourism. With harmony, organic updating, contextualism, etc. as the principle, the establishment of urban context, city scenery, waterfront space, Taoism culture, and city image as the tactics, and the research of the optimization of the ancient city through the dimensions of management, life, culture, and scenery, the author puts forward the layout of “One City with four Areas”. Finally, with the city zone of Dujiangyan as its tourist center, the author searches for a new method to promoting the transfer of city function to tourism destination through the extension tourist area of the whole city.
