Land resources are the vital natural resources and production resources to the survival of human. The optimization of land use structure will directly affect the economic, social and ecological benefits in the land utilization. With the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, great changes have taken place in urban form and industrial structure. However, the rapid city expansion and industrial growth leads to the mismatch of city and industry functional structure. This mismatch causes a series of problems such as the separation of workplace and residence and the faultiness of public service facilities, which presents a challenge for the regional economic and social sustainable development. Based on such situations, studies on the integration of city and industry have great significance.This paper broadens the connotation and concept system of city-industry integration based on the analysis of the research status for city-industry integration. It straightens out the relationship between city-industry integration and land use structure optimization, taking spatial structure theory, core and periphery theory, smart growth theory and human-land coordination theory as the basis. And then a framework of land use structure optimization under the concept of city-industry integration is set up, which builds up the theoretical thinking referring to establishing the evaluation system with indicators about residence, supporting facilities and ecology, and to making the matching in number and the recombination in function to be guiding thought.Taking Yangzhong as study area, the city-industry integration degrees of 58 typical enterprises, each township and the whole city are estimated and divided into different types by getting data from the second land survey and Google maps. The result of Yangzhong is 0.3155 which belongs to the type of basic fusion.54.45% of the enterprises and 66.67% of the towns are in the category of basic fusion, good fusion and high fusion. However the results of compositive index and sub-indicators vary widely from enterprise to enterprise and town to town. Seen from the spatial dimension, the city-industry integration degree score decreases from the central area to the outskirts generally, except that the score of Xilaiqiao town shows inverse increase. Generally, the integration situation is fine at the scale of city, town and enterprise. But the regional difference is huge. So the land use structure optimization strategies directing at the shortcomings should be put forward with the city-industry integration evaluation results and related planning considered.Theoretical analysis and empirical study show that combination of the city-industry integration and the land use structure optimization can make up for the over-macro in present city-industry integration evaluation to some extent and provide a more intuitive way to analyze the spatial difference, so as to provide operable strategies and practice path for the promotion of the city-industry integration in...
