Rural poverty alleviation in China has been transferred to the stage of consolidating the achievements. Re-poverty in some areas and strategy of sustainable development further highlight the importance of the subsequent management of rural poverty alleviation. The human and material resources related to the process of building left with the completion of poverty alleviation projects. As the main beneficiary and administrator of the project management, farmers play a key factor of follow-effective operation. Therefore, farmers’ decision-making behavior of participating in management plays a key role to the continuation of playing its benefits for the project. However, with the outflow of rural labor force, the follow-up management of poverty alleviation projects lack of appropriate human capital. How to mobilize the farmers to participate in the follow-up project management is the core problem of carrying out rural poverty alleviation.Based on farmers’participation in the follow-up management, this paper analyze the basic model and factors which make farmers to take part in subsequent management of rural poverty alleviation in Guangxi. Firstly, based on the sort of relevant research results, this paper illustrates the importance of farmers in subsequent management of poverty alleviation projects through theoretical and practical experience. Secondly, according to the collected data, we summarized five models of the follow-up management in Guangxi Rural Poverty Reduction Project:self-contracting business model, industry associations and management, government involvement management, village responsible for the project management, team mode. Then we analyzed the problems of the subsequent management. Secondly, according to 605 valid samples collected from 18 poor counties in Guangxi, this paper analyze the main factors affecting the farmers involved in the management from two aspects: internal and external factors. The Logistic model result shows that farmers’duty, education, participation in project planning, the family members’political characteristics, recognition of the importance of follow-up management, management fees, management and protection system, government support have a positive impact on farmers’involved in poverty alleviation project management,non-farm work experience has the opposite influence. Therefore, improving the cultural quality of farmers, establishing the subsequent management system, strengthening farmers’awareness, increasing government support will promote farmers to participate in the follow-up project management.
